Titans Vs. Steelers - Preview

Oct 11, 2012

Is it Sunday yet? NO! But with Thursday night now a football night we have the Tennessee Titans matching up against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This year the NFL is showing a lot of Parody and this game doesn't stray away from that at all with a spread of 5. Although the league has become more of a passing league, this game will come down to the backfield. The Titans have been without Rashad Mendenhall due to a knee injury. As a result they have only rushed for a total of 318 Yards with 1 TD between the two of there young backups. The Titans on the other hand have had an underachieving star. Chris Johnson two years ago looked like the next big star with over 2000 rushing yards in 2009. Ever since the contract disputes and a slow start to the season it seems like he has lost a step. The Titans have only mounted a total of 327 Rushing yards, which has put them ranked 30th overall in yards. If the Titan's are able to get Johnson back to his prime form it will allow Hasselback to have less pressure and open up the passing game to big play receivers such as Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, and Jared Cook. Both teams are very banged up, Pittsburgh's D is looking to get Harrison back in the swing of things, and bring back the steel curtain. The Titans hope Hasselback can get back in some sort of groove, and manage the offense to a win. Like Kevin, I don't see this being a high scoring game unless the running games are able to come alive. Expect both teams to rely on the big play in order to put points on the board and a lot of defense with a low scoring game.
